Production Manager:

Arms Industries – Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Full-Time

This position will provide operations management of Arms Industries facility in Phoenix, Arizona. Duties include preparing and coordinating manufacturing schedules for new and existing production programs. Monitor and reviewed resource requirements and schedules for manufacturing. Analyzed scheduling requests and evaluated resource availability to resolve production conflicts/problems.

Assessed production progress against established program plans and schedules. Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products in order to meet defined customer expectations for quality and delivery. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes employees to ensure compliance with standards. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Other duties may be assigned. Position interfaces directly with senior management and lead machinists in a professional capacity.

Basic Qualifications:

Successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. degree with extensive professional experience in manufacturing. Demonstrated success in operations leadership, non-standard work schedules, incident management, and continuous improvement methods are essential. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business preferred.
  • Operations background in Tooling, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge of computer systems, databases and programs. Very good organization and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Possess knowledge of lean manufacturing and ability to work in team environment.
  • Able to understand engineering drawings and parts lists.
  • Solid background in scheduling, planning and coordination of production/manufacturing activities.
  • Exposure to OSHA and environmental regulations, accident prevention, emergency response, accident investigation and prevention, and operations management.
  • Ability to motivate production team to produce quality products on multiple simultaneous programs.

Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervises employees in the Machine Operation Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Arms Industries policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Design Engineer:

Arms Industries – Phoenix, AZ

Job Type: Full-Time

This position will provide design engineer of Arms Industries facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will include design, development, testing and validation of various products. Working with a small team in a fast-paced environment, the designer will use their engineering skills and previous experience to refine and optimize products. The engineer will recommend design changes to improve durability, reliability, maintainability, and performance as appropriate based on test results, industry best practices, trade studies, and relevant advances in technology. The engineer will apply extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems and will have in-depth knowledge of related disciplines. The engineer will work closely with management and senior machinists to develop improvements as needed for the defense and aerospace industry. Basic Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field and a minimum of 5 years professional experience. Demonstrate design experience with SolidWorks/Inventor and Mastercam is required. An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is required. Professional experience with mechanical design, structural and thermal analysis, design and development of weapons, engines, turbines, namely pressure, volume, temperature, internal energy, enthalpy and entropy. The desired candidate will also possess strong oral and written communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

An advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field may be desired for this position. Experience with firearms, various weapon systems and engines is desired. Experience with Structural and Thermal Analysis, Failure Analysis, Engine Control Theory, Combustion Analysis, and/or Performance Optimization is desired.

The preferred candidate will contribute to a wide variety of projects as our business needs evolve. The ability to take responsibility for increasingly difficult tasks, complete them on schedule, while documenting and presenting results is expected. A strong candidate will demonstrate an interest and ability to learn new tools and technologies and successfully leverage those to effectively complete projects in a timely manner.

The mechanical engineer will develop solutions to a variety of problems including thermal analysis, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock testing, fluid flow, structural design and environmental survivability. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
